Use the correct unit before multiplying
Write the unit as INR per AED next to the rate. If the source instead reports AED per INR, invert it explicitly and retain the original observation. The quoted amount must identify whether the AED value is principal or a total budget. This unit discipline matters more than displaying many decimal places: a highly precise result from the wrong direction is still wrong.
A hypothetical example, not a current rate
Suppose a user supplies an illustrative reference of 20 INR per AED and a provider quote of 19.8 INR per AED for an exchanged principal of 1,000 AED. The quoted recipient amount before deductions is 19,800 INR. The benchmark amount is 20,000 INR. These numbers are chosen solely to explain arithmetic; they are not a provider offer, a historical observation or a live exchange rate.
Add the fee under an explicit convention
With a hypothetical 10 AED fee charged on top, the sender spends 1,010 AED. The 200 INR benchmark shortfall corresponds to 10 AED at the illustrative reference rate. Adding the source-currency fee gives a benchmark-relative cost of 20 AED, or 2% of the 1,000 AED exchanged principal. This particular calculation assumes no other deductions; a different fee convention or an unknown cost component changes the interpretation.
